Archetype Book Creator Assignment (#2)



Do now:  did your summer reading book fit each characteristic of the chart?  If not, explain


Objectives:
  • demonstrate understanding of the Coming of Age Archetype
  • demonstrate understanding of summer reading book
Agenda:
1. Do now
2. Class: review the Coming of Age Summer reading assignment handout
3. Consult the sample on Finding Nemo and the rubric on the next page.
4.  Get into summer reading groups. Re-read the instructions for the assignment
5. Agree on each characteristic, including a rating for how well each element matches the archetype. The copywriter is in charge of taking group notes in a Google Doc that will be used as the text for the book.
6. Assign roles for the members of your group.
7. Summarizer: discuss ORB


HW: PINK and PURPLE Based on your role, locate/create at least 2 items for the book
ORANGE: rate each characteristic of the archetype chart for your book (* = does not match, ***= matches perfectly)

Archetypes 1.1

Do now: Put desks into rows.  Clear your desk of everything but a pen/pencil


Objectives:
  • Students will understand the characteristics of a Coming of Age Archetype


Agenda:

  2. Summer reading quiz (10 minutes)
  3. (Pink and Purple only): Presentations
  4. In Google Drive, look in the “Shared with Me” for the “9cp Handouts” folder from me.  Add this to your drive.
  5. Open Notability and create an “English 9” Subject, with a “Summer Reading” divider
  6. Download into notability the “Coming of Age Summer Reading Assignment” handout from 9Cp handouts folder in Google Drive (download all the handouts)
  7. As class: review the Coming of Age Archetype characteristics chart
  8. Individual: Fill out the “Coming of Age Archetype CHART” for your summer reading book.
  9. Summarizer

Do now: create a folder in Google Drive.  Name it "first name last name 9 PURPLE" Then share this folder with me to tlockwoodsantiago@belmontschools.net

Objective: Students will be able to use Google slides to create a book about a partner

Agenda:

2. Finish Interviewing: with a partner, ask TEN of the 20 questions on the interview sheet. Record his/her/their answers on the sheet.

3. Create a Google Slide book! See the assignment HERE

4. Ticket to leave
